Topic > Crash: A Story About Getting Rid of Prejudices

From watching the movie "Crash", I believe we use stereotypes because we have a tendency to judge how others are and how they behave towards each other. As I go to college, I will see people from different cultures who may act as practical and believe the same things I believe, but I will not treat them differently. The reason why you shouldn't treat anyone differently is because you may not know where they are coming from or how difficult a time they are going through. I believe we shouldn't treat anyone differently because you might never know how it's going to end because one day you might need their help but they might say no because you're judging them for their feelings and whatnot. That's why one day it will come back to you in a way you don't want it to. For example, in the movie Crash, when that cop sexually assaults the woman for doing inappropriate things to her husband in the car, the cop stopped them both. He ordered them both to get out of the car and spread their legs and arms. He told the deputy to let the man go and stay there. Say no to plagiarism. He acted as if he could run away while his partner and her husband stood there watching the policeman do what he was doing to the woman. Then after a while the woman he attacked was in a car accident and he tries to help her she realizes who he is and starts screaming get away from me. The policeman was surprised and didn't realize that this was the same woman he had sexually assaulted right in front of her husband and simply yelled at her "I won't hurt you," he said. After that, he helps her get out of the car before it explodes. With this lesson, you should pay attention to what you say or do because in the end you might know what the results might be. What I could take away from this movie is that I should just respect each of my classmates who have different beliefs than me. I also believe that I shouldn't judge others because of their background and opinions because it might help me one day. Throughout my college experience, I will have different opinions from my classmates about how they feel about my feelings and how I will feel about their own opinion and how I should work towards their judgment. The reason is that it will teach me that not everyone thinks the same and you shouldn't judge people based on their opinions.
