A while back I went to the Desert Botanical Garden to take a look. At first I thought it was a real garden, with flowers and roses and things like that. I was excited and disappointed when we went and there were no flowers. I should have known, since the name was DESERT botanical garden, but it crossed my mind. But upon arriving the place, it was actually quite nice. We went on a not too hot day and the monarch butterflies were still alive. We had limited time to be there, so we decided to check out the butterfly garden. We walked around trying to find the place but actually got lost after walking around one area for almost ten minutes. We didn't realize the botanical garden was so big, and we were shocked that one place could have so many desert plants in one place. We went around the time they were introducing art into the desert, so we looked around too. We finally reached the butterfly room, and it was really cute. I have never seen so many butterflies in my entire life. Even though we only explored half the garden, I think I enjoyed it. I also learn about butterflies, but I think I knew them before and how they hatch and grow. I wanted to see a cacoon but since it was not the season I couldn't do it. A man had to go around spraying water on the plants; back then it was a real desert, the plants should have been able to survive with what the sun had given them. The Renaissance Festival Spring break was the first time I went to the Renaissance Festival. I've heard great things about it and have always wanted to go and see it in person since I'm in love with old things. I've always said that if I had to live in the past I would choose the Renaissance. Going there was really fun; it wasn't as expensive as people had told me, but that was probably because I didn't have to pay for the food. Their turkey leg was HUGE. I really enjoyed their shows, but unfortunately I had to leave early because I had a schedule. But I got to ride a camel and it was really cool. I wanted to ride the elephant too, but felt camels were more exotic. In my opinion, the Renaissance festival is just a fun festival to go to in spring and everyone should go at least once in their life, however, I think the Renaissance festival wastes a lot of energy. First of all, almost everyone buys a turkey leg; it's a must. That means a lot of turkeys are dead, just for their legs. The festival lasted a whole month, I imagine there are probably about 300 visitors on average, which means about 50 turkeys die every day, just from their legs. Please note: this is just an example.
