I'm not very good at writing, or even reading poetry, which might be one reason why it's my least favorite genre of writing. Honestly, it's not a form of writing I like. I feel like it can often be difficult to break down and understand what the writer is trying to say. I also have problems with the use of some poetic devices; more specifically I have difficulty using devices correctly while writing poetry. I never liked it when I was assigned poetry writing projects in middle and high school because I'm not very good at it and as a result I almost always received lower grades than any other type of writing assignment. Poetry is a form of writing that I have worked on over the years. I am by no means an expert poet, but I have improved. Poetry will always be a type of writing that I can improve
