I chose social work as a specialization and career because I want to help other people live full and happy lives. I want to champion the cause of other people in the community by empowering them to make decisions for themselves. I want to be a social worker because it's a natural fit for what I do intuitively. Finally, the field of social work is broad and there are many different types of work I can do in this field. I want to work with the elderly population because when people live longer they need more services. There is an upward trend in the adult population as it is booming and requires more resources and social services
