I've been working with Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator since October last year and I noticed that there were some things I could do with one program and not the other. I was a little curious about it and the thought that came to mind was what is the difference and similarity between the two programs. I often use them side by side, knowing that they truly complement each other's work. So, with this question in mind, I decided to do a little research on Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop and what I found was that they had more differences than similarities. I was thinking they would have more in common. But according to information found online, they are not. Illustrator, which allows me to create my own unique designs, creates vector graphics and vector text. Illustrator invites me to explore more expressive ways of designing. To help you better understand the terms Vector Graphics and Vector Text, I will give you the definition of both. Vector graphics are made up of paths defined by a start and end point, along with other points, curves, and angles along the path. Vector text is text that uses a font created only with line segments. It is very useful to be scaled and very fast. Vector images take up less storage space and can also be downloaded faster. Vector images can also be resized to any size without losing quality. Illustrator can be used online, in print, in video, and even on my phone. However, I cannot apply the filter to vector images. Illustrator software offers easy-to-use tutorials that help me use Illustrator better, and they're all over the internet. Whatever you need to know about Adobe Illustrator, there's a tutorial for it. Illustrator takes a few key elements......middle of paper......to have to choose between the two programs and only use one when I need to and use both. Both programs and their uses are so different that it's probably best to use both Adobe programs for my digital and imaging projects. I can use Photoshop to edit some images and then insert them into Illustrator to create a completely new image with the image I corrected in Photoshop.
