Selecting the Project Manager After completion of the project portfolio and a thorough analysis of the projects contained within, the Chick-Fil-A project was chosen. After project selection, senior management, Industrial Civil and Electrical Engineering (ICEE) Inc., is tasked with choosing a project manager who will lead the project. It is the project manager's job to ensure that the project is properly planned, implemented and completed. The project manager should be an excellent facilitator and supervisor and, above all, an excellent communicator. Project managers are responsible for the successful planning, execution, and closure of any project they may host. The project manager for ICEE was selected based on criteria deemed necessary by the senior management team and associated with efficient, effective and absolutely necessary project management practices. They are also scaled using a consistent method. The scale is primarily based on the level of impact each feature would have on the successful completion of the particular Chick-Fil-A project. The primary responsibilities of a project manager include, but are not limited to: • Producing clear and achievable project objectives • Establishing project requirements and • Managing constraints; cost, time, quality, etc. The following Project Manager selection criteria were used: • Time management • Organizational skills • Team leadership skills • Problem solving • Credibility • Project knowledge • Communication skills and • Ethics The above mentioned criteria were evaluated on a scale determined by the ICEE and are listed below: Criteria Scale Time Management 0.75 Organizational Skills 0.5 Team Leadership Skills 0.8 Problem Solving 0.7 Credibility 0.65 Project..... . middle of the sheet ...... organizational chart, the project manager(s) has access to all resources, including personnel from each department, to better complete the selected project successfully. The likelihood of conflicts occurring as a result of using the matrix project organizational method is very high and, therefore, project managers have been thoroughly trained in conflict resolution and possess exceptional interpersonal skills. It is also expected that conflicts are resolved at the lowest possible level. Works Cited[1] M.
