People constantly discriminate against each other even if they don't realize it. Due to racial discrimination in our society, our actions are often influenced. The movie “Crash” clearly shows how people in a society are segregated and categorized. It shows how people of different races treat each other and how such treatments cause them to act in a specific way. Discrimination and racial classifications in our society make people irrational. The movie “Crash” presents how several racial conflicts bring together a group of strangers in Los Angeles. There is a Caucasian lawyer and his wife, who had their car stolen by two black males. One of those black males turns out to be the brother of a black detective and the white lawyer, a black man emails the detective to provide false information about a murder. Along the way there is a caring and loving white cop who accidentally kills the black detective's brother. There is also a Persian shopkeeper and his family, who are constantly threatened and mistaken for Arabs. He hires a dedicated Hispanic locksmith to fix a lock in his shop, and later tries to kill the locksmith after his shop is destroyed. On the other side is a black director and his wife, who are harassed by a Caucasian policeman, who then saves her from a fire in a car. The film involves several collisions where characters are stereotyped and discriminated against due to their racial background. “Crash” demonstrates how racial tensions make people irrational and anxious. At...... middle of the paper ...... of my argument, I believe my argument has better reasoning because it is obvious both in our society today and in the movie "Crash" that we unconsciously discriminate against each other. It is also clear that our actions are influenced by how others perceive us. We don't always realize how socially constructed our society is or how we made it so. We are the ones who discriminate against each other. We are the reason we are not treated as equals and why every race is treated differently. Because some of us treat each other differently because of our racial background, our actions differ. As shown by the characters in “Crash,” we all act a certain way because of how society has built us to think we should act. Racial classification and discrimination clearly cause society to become people they are not.
