Topic > Advantages and Disadvantages of Rubber Dam - 1241

Rubber dam is a type of hydraulic structure consisting of a rubber bag that can be inflated with suitable fluid to a suitable size to hold water and can be used for hydraulic management. To be precise, it is a high-strength fabric with rubber anchored to the concrete base that forms a balloon bag to stop the flow of water. The purposes of rubber dam are waterway control, flood control, irrigation, water supply, tidal barrier, environment improvement, water retention for agricultural and industrial uses . Inflatable rubber dams are used successfully in many parts of the world and more and more are being installed every year. Nearly 2000 rubber dams have been planted and are operational to date across the world. xx rubber dams have been installed in Bangladesh. Rubber dam is becoming more and more important in recent days due to its advantages, low construction costs and less impact on the environment. The construction of a large-scale inflatable rubber dam is still ambitious, although many useful and effective modifications have been made in recent days for a successful application. The construction method and design of the rubber dam still follows the original design of a single component of the rubber bag, and it is suggested that the inflatable rubber dam should have spans of less than 100 meters. Solutions to design problems arising from large-scale rubber dam construction have been discussed in this article. The goal is to find an efficient and safe inflatable rubber dam design for small and large projects, while keeping it as cost-effective as possible. Introduction: Rubber dam, rubber fabric hydraulic structure used to control flow at different flow heights is a challenging concept for research as a mo...... middle of paper ......d forces and damage . In case of damage to a separate cell of the inflatable rubber dam, other acoustic bags can resist the flow. The proposed rubber dam model does not consist of a single rubber bag, but consists of several cells of rubber bags with special designs and properties. All these cells are connected to each other by vulcanization of the rubber sheet to the rubber bag cells. The cells together with the Rubber Sheet vulcanized with them constitute a watertight structure. However, the rubber sheet connecting two adjacent cells must be loose enough so that little longitudinal force is transferred from one cell to the other. You can use steel wire around the cells and then embed it into the base for added strength. The resistance of the vulcanized connection between the cells determines the number of cells to be placed side by side between two successive cells of the second type.
