Introduction Some of the challenges that organizations' human resources department faces involve operations, policies and procedures, and the selection of highly qualified candidates. Management depends on the human resources department to select candidates through recruitment, interviewing and screening applications. I will discuss some methods used by human resources departments to screen potential candidates through credit reports and social media. Credit Reports Organizations use traditional recruiting methods, placing help wanted ads in newspapers to search for potential candidates. The human resources department's application screening process requires applicants to undergo an interview, background check and credit investigation. The reason why organizations conduct a credit investigation is to ensure that applicants are credible and trustworthy. By conducting a credit investigation, the human resources department can compare the information on a candidate's profile to ensure it matches the information on their credit report. A good credit report would not consist of judgments, bankruptcy; make any payments due or any recovery. Based on the application process, this would be the ideal candidate for the job. Organizations will not hire candidates if their credit report shows any negative blemishes. Organizations would be afraid that if candidates have many imperfections in their report, it would cause problems for the company, especially if their job required a candidate to handle monetary transactions. Organizations see candidates as having trouble managing their personal financial affairs, they cannot be trusted to manage the reasonableness of the organization. The human resources department would not hire a highly qualified candidate with...... half of paper ...... responsibilities within an organization, the challenge they face is recruiting the right candidate for the position. Requires application screening, interviews, background and possible credit investigations. However, there are many recruiting tools that HR departments can use to recruit candidates, and social media has been the most popular.
