Throughout life, challenges and experiences are thrown our way. Before my knowledge, acquired throughout the year, I blamed God for misfortunes. However, through my understanding, God helps us face the inevitable. Important concepts in THCT100 helped me understand God and find the strength to develop my faith again. I was raised according to Catholic guidelines on how to live, behave, and how I saw the world. My school life passed through Catholic institutions, which is unusual considering my father is Coptic and my mother is Catholic. When I attended St. Mark's Elementary School, the main theme was that Catholicism was essential. At the beginning of elementary school, I was taught early on about the Catholic faith and how to behave as a good Catholic. As early as kindergarten, I remember being taught what the Bible stood for and what it meant for the world. As a kid I never paid much attention to it, because I didn't have much interest in it. In my second year, I became very interested in the Bible after my teacher told the story of Adam and Eve to the class. Later that night, about an hour into the Bible, I thought to myself, it was amazing to read all this and it was true. That year I gained an accurate understanding of what it meant to be Catholic and what we Catholics believed. Moving from the third to the fourth grade, I received the sacrament of the Eucharist, even though the primary school teachers referred to the Sacrament of the Eucharist as first communion. As my teacher told the class about this “First Communion” and how my class would receive the “Body and Blood of Christ,” I sat there with fear just thinking about what would happen, especially fear of the unknown. Later that night my mother explained to me... in the middle of the paper... becoming is becoming." (1976). When we talk about God as a person, we might think that God is just a person. The word "person" originally comes from the Latin word persona, meaning the face of an actor and, by extension, the role he plays (Studies in Doctrine by Alister E. McGrath). Therefore, he can play any role, i.e. God, Jesus and the holy spirits; however God is still a person who plays these roles. My most important learning experience from this unit in my understanding of both the Old and New Testaments, I understand that many of the things written in the Bible are derived contextually, so it is important not to take this into account. literal sense. I understand the meaning of the origin of the words, these words allow for a greater understanding of the concept. As a result, I have gained knowledge and concepts that could help me become a Christian believer.
