As I rotated between various departments during my clinical years, I felt an immense pull towards family medicine for the variety it offers in terms of challenging cases that ranging from newborns to the elderly, the research opportunities, the bonds created with patients and families. This reawakened not only a desire to pursue family medicine where I could establish long-term relationships with my patients, but also an interest in health policy. Family medicine offers the opportunity to focus on comprehensive care for patients of all age groups and also provide quality mental and behavioral health care in primary care settings. During my clinical years I took part in the Pulse Polio Immunization campaign established by the Government of India to eliminate polio by immunizing all children under the age of five against polio
