Topic > Comparison between the creation epic/Enuma Elish and Genesis

This story demonstrates a different religion than that presented in the book of Genesis. In the passage of “The Epic of Creation”, there are multiple Gods, demonstrating polytheism. Polytheism is the worship or belief in many gods. In contrast, in the book of Genesis, there are a couple of verses that all project the same message of belief in a divine God. As indicated in Genesis, everything that is made comes from Him and Him alone. This religion would definitely come from a different culture of people, such as the culture presented in the passage of “The Epic of Creation”. The religion that the people in Genesis would have worshiped would have been monotheism. Monotheism is the belief that one would worship or follow only one God. From the beginning the author, in the book of Genesis, wants the public to know that there is nothing to fear, everything is true and divine thanks to the power of "All”.
