Marijuana can help treat these conditions, but there are also other people who use marijuana as medicine for other conditions. For example, people use marijuana for sleep, because some people have difficulty sleeping at night and need this product to rest their body. Furthermore, those people who can only sleep a few hours use marijuana to sleep more hours. Some individuals use marijuana for rheumatism problems, they mixed marijuana with alcohol to relieve pain. Also people say that the results with this product are beneficial for adults. People sometimes use marijuana to relax the body. For example, there are many people who get stressed at work and use it to relax at home. However, marijuana should not be legalized because its use as a medicine can have negative consequences. “While supporters assert marijuana's usefulness in treating a variety of medical conditions, opponents counter that the drugs have never been proven effective and the new laws open the door to abuse” (Peron). Those who use marijuana for sleep may have serious problems because if they use this drug every day for sleep their body will get used to receiving this drug daily. Therefore, their body will never rest unless they take medications to help them sleep and they will eventually become addicted. Therefore, those who believe that marijuana should be legalized must reconsider the serious consequences that its use as a medicine will cause.
