Renewable energy is any natural source that can replenish or renew itself over a period of time. There are four main sources of renewable resources, Solar energy uses the idea of trapping or harnessing energy from sunlight to power electrical devices or provide heating or cooling to your home or local building. Wind energy uses onshore wind to spin turbines to generate power for local cities. Geothermal energy is a product that uses the heat of the earth to produce electricity for your needs. Hydropower is a product that uses energy created by moving water or tidal power to power mechanical devices or create electricity. Burning "biomass," including farm crop waste, cultivated crops, and even animal and human waste, can also generate energy for everyday uses. Solar energy is one of the best renewable resources known to man today. The idea of trapping the sun's rays to convert them into energy and produce electricity, heat or cooling devices. Solar energy has a number of advantages: it is so effective, abundant and infinitely renewable that it is one of the main renewable sources used today. Solar energy is available in larger or smaller quantities, so for example you can use it for a local family home or to run a large-scale office building. Solar energy can consist of individual solar cells used to charge batteries for energy storage, and solar lighting uses tubes connected to a collector on the roof of a building to provide light (Ayres, Robert and .
