While Cecil shows the inequality in the workforce, his son joins the Black Panther Party and shows the inequality in the daily life of a black from the 1960s onwards. His son began to rise up and fight for equal rights for blacks. During this time blacks had their own bathrooms, water fountains, and in the film the only black lunch counter areas. As late as the 1960s, blacks were not considered equal to whites and had to be segregated.
