Meaningful experiences are an important factor in shaping and developing an individual's choices. They can really influence how someone acts and feels depending on the situation. In William Shakespeare's play Romeo and Juliet, lovers embark on an experience that plays with their fragile emotions. It challenges them to try to deal with the conflict that stands in their way and prevents them from achieving something they desire. Juliet, a composed young girl, quickly falls in love, which makes her actions irrational. Love can cause an individual to make quick, irrational decisions followed by strong actions. The introduction to Juliet in the play shows an innocent and illogical girl. She has lived her life protected from the outside world, as she is the daughter of the Capulets. Her thoughts are intact due to the protection placed for her. Juliet's views on love and marriage are very limited. His words “It's an honor I don't dream of” underline how he has never had a strong desire for love or even knowledge of it. It wasn't a big deal to her, she was still identified as an ordinary teenager. The way she was portrayed in the beginning shows how drastic a change she endures and it greatly changes her outlook on life and love. Shakespeare revealed to Juliet what she was like to show the rapid and emotional change that happens to her. She is immature because she has no experience or knowledge of what love is, only what it appears to be. The first meeting Juliet had with Romeo automatically influenced Juliet's outlook towards love and marriage that had been brought to her attention just minutes before. When Juliet laid eyes on Romeo she felt as if she was in love with someone she had never met. The lovers spoke little... middle of paper... a lot with the pressure of all the events. Juliet grew up in a way taking matters into her own hands, but she still needed more experience to fully grow, there is still a little girl inside. Juliet and Romeo were at that moment, very much in love with a new love. The desire to be together and other factors created more stress in their actions. Juliet was overwhelmed by her emotions which helped convince her to act that way. She was simply too young to accomplish many things, so she acted for herself and what she felt she wanted without concern for others. It shows how something really controlled the way Juliet was in a matter of days. In Romeo and Juliet Shakespeare really describes the effect love had on Juliet and how it can make someone irrational followed by harsh actions.
