Since the first video games were created in the early 1960s, video games have become increasingly popular as a recreational activity. Approximately 98% of children aged 6 to 15 in the UK and more than 69% of Americans play video games (Stang et al., 2007). There is some historical data about video games that were popular in the 1980s. and the 1990s were a decade of marked innovation in video games. It was a decade of transition from raster graphics to 3D graphics and gave rise to several video game genres including first-person shooters and real-time strategy games. Apart from this, we can also play video games on our mobile phone. By the early 2000s (decade), mobile games had gained popularity in Japanese mobile culture, years before the United States or Europe. By 2003, a wide variety of mobile games were available on Japanese phones, from puzzle games and virtual pet titles that use the phone's camera and fingerprint scanning technologies to 3D games with PlayStation-quality graphics. There are several ways we could define a game which is an electronic or computer game played by manipulating the image on a video game or television screen. For most young people, playing games on a computer, video game console or portable device is just a normal part of the day. Therefore, it is crucial for teenagers to carefully choose video games that benefit them. So we can decide for ourselves whether we want video games to give us positive or negative effects in our daily lives. These games are fun and engaging, and young people often think that playing them is a great thing to do in their free time. We shouldn't spend too much time on games because it can give us negative effects, but we shouldn't stop completely either, just cut back a little and try to allocate our additional free time doing things that are good for us. While for the child, parents need to help their children find a good way to provide them with benefits when playing video games. Now, we can see that the positive or negative effects of playing video games depend on us.
