“Education is the most powerful weapon you can use to change the world,” said Nelson Mandela. Undoubtedly, education is essential for everyone, especially for the young generations as they are the future leaders who will take over the world. It inspires them to gain knowledge as knowledge is power and to broaden their visions towards the world. For this reason, every parent certainly wants the best for their children by sending them to school to continue their studies. It is a golden opportunity for them to change for the better. Theodore Roosevelt quote: “A man who never went to school can steal from a boxcar; but if he has a college education, he could steal the whole railroad,” he can relate to this. However, choosing the right school for your child is a complex decision that every parent must make. Therefore, the question that often worries every parent is whether to send their children to a coeducational school or an all-boys school (Ssenkabirwa & Mitti, 2010). Many experts say that “…it is almost impossible to compare apples to apples when it comes to same-sex and coeducation.” (Novotney, 2011). Since every coin has two sides, both have advantages and disadvantages. In any case, it is believed that the advantages of co-education undoubtedly outweigh the cons. Blended education, also known as co-education, is a school system where girls and boys learn together under one roof. It is the opposite of single-sex education. The concept of coeducation is believed to have been introduced by a renewed Greek philosopher, called Plato, who believed that girls and boys should be treated equally. So, coeducational school can be called a natural imitation of the real world as it is a coeducational school consisting of both… The problem, however, we have no idea what to do next, and therefore the co-educational school system will be to the rescue. The school prepares a student for his professional life in a healthy and competitive environment. The valuable interactions between both sexes encourage a sense of gender equality as both perspectives are explored. This co-educational environment allows men and women to work on an equal footing without being stereotyped anywhere. For the country to excel and grow the society, we must look at the issue in a more general perspective instead of limiting our views to immediate returns. Young people are the future of our country, what they think and what they do does not only concern us, but also our descendants. As far as this issue is concerned, co-education is definitely on par with single-sex education.
