Boggs goes out to find Sherburn “Come here, Sherburn! Come out and meet the man you cheated” (Twain 218). It appears that Boggs wanted to get the money that Sherburn stole from him. Coronel Sherburn's greed was so great that he preferred to kill Boggs before returning his money to him. “O Lord, do not shoot!” Bang! the first shot goes off, and he staggers backwards, clawing at the air... bang! goes the second” as he falls to the ground dead (Twain 218). Sherburn's act of greed quickly turned to violence, taking Bogg's life for no other reason than
