Getting pregnant at an early age makes a teen mom go through various difficulties. Many tragedies occur with family, friends and even the child's father. 91% of teen mothers did not intend to have sex or have any sexual contact until they drank alcohol (Langham, NP). One thing is for sure: it is not easy to raise your child when you yourself are still a child. It's very complicated for everyone, but in the end that child's parents become stronger and have more knowledge, and their stories can teach others to avoid making the same mistake. While a teenager is pregnant, she has emotional problems such as stress, anxiety and anger. Teens who don't have the support of their friends and family may feel more stressed; (because they feel abandoned and have no one to turn to when they feel helpless.) Although before getting pregnant, drinking could cause accidental pregnancy. Suicide attempts or suicidal thoughts are more likely, especially when a teen finds out she is pregnant. When a teenager receives opposing advice, more thoughts come into the teenager's mind; bad thoughts could derail a plan. A teenage mother goes through a lot of emotional pain when she learns that she is pregnant. The moment a teenager knows that they are expecting a baby; they therefore have a loss of social skills. In many complications the friends turn their back on the pregnant teenager and start teasing her. This easily occurs when the child's father is not present to support the mother. When aggression begins, the teenager is afraid of getting dirty looks or fingers pointed at her. Low self-esteem and desolation therefore affect the adolescent and the child.
