What is waste? Waste is the products of our consumption in the routine of daily life such as lunch, work, school and other things we do. Small things, like throwing away a piece of paper, produce waste every second. After consuming a product we usually throw away what remains and can no longer be consumed. The result is the production of waste, substances that arise after being used or consumed by us. At the end of each day we throw away a bag full of garbage, all the materials in that bag (paper towels, cans, food scraps and many other materials) are all waste. Hospitals produce medical waste, for example they use needles to treat patients. Companies produce paper, plastic, tires, steel, cans and many other types of solid waste that contribute to pollution that causes health risks and other environmental problems. Solid waste is not only produced by households; it is provided by hospitals and companies. Hospitals throw away bandages, use needles and latex gloves, these items that hospitals continually throw away daily because they cannot be reused for patient safety. Companies throw away a lot of waste, such as documents they use in writing or in projects. All these leftovers after consumption are waste produced by our daily actions. Waste disposal methods? New York has three common methods for getting rid of our waste. The three methods mention below some of the main methods used by New York sanitation services to eliminate garbage generated by families, businesses, hospitals and many other organizations.1. Transfer stations2. Management and recovery systems for recyclable materials3. Solid Waste LandfillsTransfer stations are facilities that collect waste…half paper…comparable to the fiscal 2013 budget. While I said earlier that the recession requires a smaller budget, in this case we see an increase in funding . But the question arises: where do the funds come from? The answer is simple which makes me laugh. Deep CUTS to other programs where we can get extra money for extra funding for other programs. Without any doubt in my mind that the world we live in is in danger due to environmental problems and global warming. Increasing sanitation means more workers, a better environment and clean air for all of us. In the New York City Sanitation Department report, information was also presented about budget cuts (5.9 million) to other programs. Not to convince anyone to do anything, but to provide a clear picture of how money is managed and the actions that need to be taken to get things doneVoters
