China became the largest and most populous country in Asia. IT has developed a unique culture by being isolated and having little contact with other civilizations. As time passed, its production methods and government system here were very advanced for its time. The history of China is shown through the rule of different dynasties, their schools of thought and religion, and the vast spread of their culture to surrounding countries. Throughout China's history, many dynasties have ruled this immensely growing country. The Shang Dynasty was the first, ruling during the Bronze Age. Bronze was used more for ritual objects such as chalices, steamers and cauldrons rather than for warfare. They ruled for more than two centuries when they were defeated by the Zhou. Sacrificing their ancestors was something the Zhou and Shang had in common. During the Zhou period, transmitted texts such as the Book of Documents first existed. The early Zhou rulers established a decentralized feudal system instead of trying to directly rule all of their territories. Relatives and trusted subordinates ruled these territories and the offices became hereditary allowing them to pass the office on to their children. After a long time, loyalty became darker and the lords became too powerful and no longer obeyed the king. An alliance of Rong tribesmen killed the Zhou king, and the Zhou dynasty failed to gain full control over its vassals, again bringing China into what is called the Warring States period. The states fought and destroyed each other and were in constant war for a long period of time before the Qin finally took over. This king invented the title “emperor” because “king” is big enough. He also adopted legal provinces... middle of paper... and appointing governors to collect taxes from them were just some of the things they got from China. China was the most populous country at the time and greatly influenced all surrounding countries. Many different dynasties have ruled China throughout history, and each has had its own impact on China. Each ruler had their own beliefs and ways of ruling that would be imposed on the people. The countries around China were also affected when the Chinese armies conquered them and established their armies in their country. With exponential population growth, China has become the largest country and economic leader in the world. As China grew throughout history, many schools of thought were introduced. Much of Chinese culture and language spread to surrounding countries and even Japan. Works Cited History of World Societies
