It's not written in your article, but I assume that in rugby, if a player does not have a minor injury, he is considered not to have given his best in the match. But sometimes injuries become too serious, like Tony Dorsett's. He was hit in the neck by a helmet which hit him like a Ferrari at 220 km/h.
