Topic > Ethical Awareness - 668

Ethical awareness is and continues to be a debated concept in the business community. The notion of what motivates ethnic awareness is at the center of the debate. In other words, decisions made about business practices are motivated by an obligation to the community, a sense of corporate responsibility, the leader's view of right and wrong, or political influences. Although perspectives on what motivates ethical awareness differ among business leaders, ethnic awareness is critical in decision making. This essay outlines the ethnic awareness principles of Drucker, Alahmad, Friedman, and Murphy and how business decisions are influenced by those principles. Superficially, aspects of the ethical awareness principles of well-known authorities are parallel. That is, the business leader's decisions are limited to his behavior. In this regard, ethnic awareness is how business leaders act or behave. However, the distinction of these principles of ethical awareness concerns what motivates behavior or a business decision. Alahmad states that ethnic awareness is motivated by a person's concept of right and wrong (Alahmad, 2010). That is, “telling the truth, no matter what, respect, punctuality, non-judgement, fairness, humility and dignity can be an international ethical code that every leader should follow” (Alahmad, 2010). In other words, decision making is guided by a leader's concept of right and wrong, and his or her goal is not to harm or hurt anyone. However, each individual has their own concept of right and wrong which may be motivated by culture or have no motivation at all (Alahmad, 2010). Regardless, Alahamad argues that an individual's decisions are strengthened by his or her concept of right and wrong. Contra... half of the document ......(2010).
