Throughout the song, Jackson mentions when he first met his wife at a young age, when he married, separated, reconciled, and raised a family. The phrase "Remember when" is used to go back to his memories (Lyrics007). She describes that when they got married, they had to learn to overcome the good and bad times of their relationship. In verse 4, Jackson states "the sound of little feet", this happened when they separated and reconciled months later because their children had such an impact on them that they didn't want to divorce (Lyrics007). When he says that “when thirty seemed old”, since they got married so young, they thought thirty was old and looking back now they are old (Lyrics007). Towards the end of the song they vow to stay together forever until old age, regardless of the circumstances.
