Topic > Why abortion is wrong - 658

How would you feel if someone took away your inalienable right to live far away? Imagine having no say in whether or not you want to have a life. Well, babies have no choice in the womb. Abortion is the early termination of pregnancy, most often performed during the first 28 weeks of pregnancy, with approximately 44 million abortions performed globally each year. Unsafe abortions cause approximately 70,000 maternal deaths and 5 million hospital admissions per year. In perspective, abortion is unimaginably wrong. Abortion is wrong because there are safer solutions to the situation. In the article “Why do more people choose abortion over adoption?” it is estimated that in America there are approximately two million infertile couples waiting for adoption. Dr. Brad Imler, president of the American Pregnancy Helpline, announced that only 1% of the Helpline's annual clients apply for adoption. Adoption is the best-known substitute for abortion in America. Placing the child for adoption will give them a more precious chance for a happier and better life rather than going through the abortion process. Placing your child in a temporary foster home is another option you may want to consider. Many temporary foster care agencies are dedicated to helping most women or couples through parenting classes. The solution for an unwanted child should never be death. Abortion should be stopped because it is considered brutal murder. There are two types of induced abortion: surgical and chemical. Up to the 15th week of pregnancy, aspiration or vacuum aspiration are the most common surgical methods of induced abortion, although the surgical method includes about eight different ways to terminate y...... middle of paper... ...very possible. There are so many other things you could do to prevent unwanted pregnancies, most of which lead to the thought of abortion. It is understandable that if someone were to become pregnant due to a drunken night or rape, the only option they think they have is to have an abortion, but that is absolutely false. If you think that getting rid of the baby so you can continue to have a better and normal life without the responsibility of caring for a baby is right, that's not the case. The baby does not have to suffer and be blamed for your mistake of getting pregnant or someone else's mistake. I don't think it's right for his life to be taken away by having an abortion. Adoption or temporary custody of the child to a foster family are some of the many possible solutions instead of abortion. I believe abortion should not be legalized at all.
