Sweet Dreams - Original Writing It was a cold, freezing night in mid-November. The wind whistled outside and the wooden gate rattled. Inside her little cottage sat a kind, middle-aged lady named Barbara. Lying on the floor next to her was Buster, her beloved dachshund. He flipped through the TV channels repeatedly, but found nothing interesting to watch. Before she knew it, boredom and the warmth of the warm, cozy fire had sent her to sleep. While she was dozing she had a very strange dream... Barbara was taking a train journey to visit her cousin Lizzie in Edinburgh. Along the way sat next to her a handsome young man with shiny blond curls and sparkling blue eyes. She was hypnotized! Even though she was too old, she couldn't take her eyes off him. But as they say, all good things come to an end and suddenly the boy got up from his seat and got off the train. Barbara was demoralized. Even the picturesque scenery of Scotland's hills and glens couldn't cheer her up. Soon she had reached her destination. A bright red parrot with bright spots of color woke up as he got off the train. She wore a plaque around her neck that read 'Barbara'. "Okay, ma'am? You must be Barbara. I'm Clive" "Why yes! I'm Barbara! Are you here to show me my cousins' house?" he asked. “Of course love! Put my bags on the trolley. Yes, that's all, love. “You're fine now” The parrot spoke with a broad cockney accent. Once all the bags were fully loaded, they set off. Clive and Barbara walked for miles and miles until they finally reached an abandoned boarding house. The windows were smashed, mushrooms were growing on the walls, the fireplace was covered in soot, and old toys, books, and dirty children's clothes were scattered around the yard. “Is this it?!” Barbara. "Yes, I'm afraid so. It's a bit run down, isn't it?" he replied. "Yes.
