One of the problems of the Negroes was crime and poverty and he realized that they exaggerated them. Criminals are what they are because they have no money to survive, but the 7th ward wasn't all criminals, there were very few of them. Another problem was underemployment in the neighborhoods. Some blacks had no jobs because of the competition among others and also because of the discrimination that was occurring. Even those who were highly educated and skilled were refused jobs. Living in a black neighborhood was like a domino effect. Black people were not allowed to have jobs because they were judged by the color of their skin, which can lead them to steal and become criminals and eventually poverty occurs in the neighborhood, which is highly exaggerated by everyone. The city complains about “nigger problems” and contradicts itself at the same time
