I usually answer with a yes, no, or "I don't know/don't care." I use the latter a lot because I don't feel comfortable talking to my parents. The words I use with my parents are actually the same ones I use with strangers. I find it quite difficult to talk to people, and for some reason this includes my parents. If I'm asked a question, I will answer to the best of my ability, but if it's something simple, I'll typically just respond with the answers mentioned above. Unless a person explicitly asks for some form of explanation, it's just how I talk to people. I'm trying to work on it, though, and will keep trying until I feel like I can hold a normal conversation. I've also noticed that I never really talk about my feelings with anyone, regardless of how close we are. The way I speak English varies from person to person. If I don't know you at all, I will keep quiet, answering only with yes and no. If we know each other, I'll talk a little more, but I remain formal and try not to reveal too much about myself. If we're close friends, I'll be a little more open and less formal, but I still don't reveal it
