I applied to a few different schools while looking for the right fit and applied to all of them. When I did the KO tour, my parents and I immediately fell in love. We loved everything to do with KO but essentially the shared sense of identity, the trustworthy and respectful environment and the many resources available at our fingertips. My tour guide expressed these qualities to me, and as I spent more time on campus, I began to see them with my own eyes. KO's theme for the year is identity. This is extremely appropriate for its sense of community. At least once a week members of a single identity gather in Roberts to participate in an assembly. Whether that's keeping staff and students updated on campus happenings or having an external guest speaker share their knowledge and experience with us. These frequent gatherings as a community really help bring people together. As well as having school-wide assemblies, we also hold formal meetings, where grades meet individually from everyone else. This is where our class president, vice president and senators have the floor. They announce fun evenings in any form, sports results and all other upcoming dates. These meet once every two weeks and really help students bond with their classmates. Finally, athletic requirements help students bridge the gap between upperclassmen and lowerclassmen, a natural gap. When you play a sport with your peers, you depend on them for your team to succeed. All of these connection activities help students connect not just with a few people in their class, but create a relationship with their school. Another difference that separates Kingswood-Oxford from any other school is its reliability and ... middle of paper ......speed, and it helps you correct and edit pieces of writing. Finally, our school has created a first-class account on the portal for all its students. On the portal you can find all your lessons, with the list of homework, daily lesson plans, notes and worksheets distributed in class. KO has its first class with everyone in the school, staff and students, uploaded to your contacts and messages. We all receive large emails with the daily bulletin and other important announcements. This helps us stay connected and updated. In conclusion KO is the school for me. Its unique characteristics demonstrate that it is one of the best schools, if not the best, in its sense of community, ensuring a reliable and respectful environment and the numerous resources available to its students. I love KO and these aspects will convince anyone to love it as much as I do.
