I never spoke to her about her son again. I was hurt by her reaction and stayed away from her. I didn't bother communicating with her again; I didn't tell her how much her son had changed. Today with greater understanding I have learned that I shouldn't take anything personally. I had no idea what was going through that lady's mind. With this further understanding, I will always remind myself of this incident and will need to learn additional skills on how not to take things to heart. Being persistent and having an impact on a child's life are two of the reasons that led me to decide to become a teacher. My first student taught me not to give up and to always keep trying. He brought out the best in me, which helped me bring out the best in him. My second student helped me reach my destination. I was able to impact his life and then I knew I would motivate you by teaching. I'm happy that today I'm one step closer to mine
