During my volunteer work, I encountered countless people who shunned or showed disrespect towards children and adults with mental health issues. I will never forget that day, while I was playing football with the Down syndrome children, a crowd of kids loudly mocked and humiliated them. This stigma indicates that mental health discrimination is still significant and persistent in our society, despite its rapid development. It is an indisputable truth that all people have inherent value and dignity and that each individual in our society is unique and precious. With the help of professional assistance and training, enabling vulnerable and struggling people to improve their well-being is no longer something extremely difficult. I have witnessed the improvement of children with Down Syndrome, this made me strongly believe that every person has an innate ability and drive towards change, which can make life more fulfilling, mentally ill people are no exception.
