Topic > I am Mexican and I am pursuing the American dream

Many immigrants face the daily challenge of learning the primary language in a given country, making it a difficult task for them to communicate with others their age. Communication is the main component of our society, where everyone is forced to learn the new language. The American dream is a journey to be taken. Immigrants who enter this country come with a dream: they want to pursue "the American dream", by pursuing this dream they will overcome all the obstacles that come their way or so they believe. The American dream was just a dream that went unrealized by many individuals of different ethnic backgrounds. For example, Hispanic immigrants migrate to the land of freedom and better opportunities to achieve a life that their homeland could not offer. The American Dream has become a deceptive dream for many immigrants; it should no longer be the ethic for the United States. Immigrants are deceived when it comes to the American dream as it only becomes a reality for those who are rich. Therefore, let immigrants realize that education is the only path to success and that the American dream does not really exist. “America is a land built by immigrants, a mosaic of different cultures and beliefs. But despite many differences, Americans are held together by the promise of a better life” (Forbes, 2007). The American Dream can be seen as false advertising for immigrants who have always sought it. There really isn't an American dream, it's just a motivation put there to help those trying to achieve something that isn't actually there. Immigrants are deceived into coming to a land where there is freedom of speech, religion, economic understanding and fear; but he really has nothing else to offer them. They... half the paper... yes. Just because we have been stereotyped as a culture of poverty doesn't mean we have to obey it, we should want to do the opposite and know how to give them something good to talk about. Our ancestors sacrificed their lives to try to provide future generations with a better lifestyle than they had and what the majority are doing to give up. We are not quitters and should not allow ourselves to be stereotyped into something we are not. However, my father was deceived by the American dream, but I am still chasing the American dream. I have encountered difficulties during this process, but it is better to keep trying than to give up. Works Cited Ewalt, David M, and Michael Noer. “The American Dream”.
