Topic > Animal Farm - 640

The revolution had begun and at first everything was perfect with Snowball in charge until everything changed direction and went for the worse. Most of Old Major's seven commandments had been changed. “No animal shall sleep in a bed” eventually changed to “No animal shall sleep in a bed with sheets,” “No animal shall drink alcohol” now became “No animal shall drink alcohol in excess,” “No animal other animal ” was changed to “No animal will kill any other animal without reason”, and finally “All animals are equal” is now “All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others”. Napoleon began to transform into a human and trade with them. Animalism was supposed to be the same for all animals and life was easier, but Napoleon had changed everything. There are many things that Orwell represented in the film Animal Farm. It uses personification by having animals do many things that humans do such as speaking, writing, reading, and many more. In his film you may notice that he is compared to the Russian Revolution. There are many characters in the film such as Old Major, Mr. Jones, Snowball, Napoleon and Squealer; however, there are many events that happened in the film and ideas that are comparable to the Russian Revolution. Old Major in the film is exactly like Karl Marx in the Russian Revolution. Old Major is the father of Animalism and created the seven commandments. Animalism is equality between all animals without classes which is just like communism of which Karl Marx is the father. Communism is a theory or system of social organization based on the holding of all property in common, beneficial ownership being vested in the community as a whole or in the state (Dictionary 1). One last thing they have in common is that... middle of paper... the beginning of the movie when they attack the humans and "overthrow" Mr. Jones. This is just like the October Revolution in which Tsar Nicholas II was overthrown. There was also The Battle of the Windmill. In this battle the humans attacked the animals to try to regain power; they had obviously failed just as in the Battle of Stalingrad during the Russian Revolution. In this battle occurred the invasion of Russia (the farm) by Nazi forces (the humans). As you can see, the movie Animal Farm contained many comparisons between the characters and the events of the Russian Revolution. Among these revolutions both were aimed at improving life or solving problems with the Tsar/Mr. Jones. All the leaders ended up being worse and appointed the Tsar/Mr. Jones seems better than the new leaders. Eventually the enemies had rebelled and life finally became a better place.
