Helen was very bright and intelligent and with her amazing teacher, Helen was soon able to read entire books in Braille. Imagine trying to learn to read if you can't see or hear. When Helen was ten, she could read Braille and use a typewriter. Now there was one more thing Helen wanted to do. He wanted to learn to speak. Helen Keller was introduced to Sarah Fuller. Sarah taught deaf people. Helen placed her hand on Sarah's lips and felt the vibrations of the sounds. He soon learned how his lips moved to make those sounds. Helen learned to feel sound vibrations and how lips move to make sounds. He started by learning some letters and sounds. He worked very hard and soon began to speak words. It was another big step for Helen
