D. Each newspaper article read in this course presents a different perspective than that of Judge and Langdon's textbook. Which article differs most from the textbook account of the same time and place? When making your decision, be sure to consider both "content" and "style," consulting Writing History for help with the latter. It is inevitable that an accident has multiple perspectives. When a historian writes an article, he consults numerous sources and footnotes from those sources to analyze and understand the event. They then present their work in a form that means a completely new point of view is displayed. All of the journals read in this course have always been somewhat distinct from the textbook because both sources were written from a different perspective. In this essay, the article that will be discussed is “Mali,” in The Adventures of Ibn Battuta: A Fourteenth-Century Muslim Traveler and the article will be compared with the textbook, World History: HIS101 Introduction to Historical Studies. This essay will specifically compare how the historical context of Mali, which is part of West Africa, is conveyed to the public. My point of view is that the different ways and styles in which a writer communicates his content and the amount of content he provides to the reader lead to different perspectives of the same incident. In writing, communication between reader and writer is crucial because it helps preserve information and creates clarity. The textbook is communicated in the third person, which causes the author to be more objective rather than emotional or personal. Furthermore, the author is not biased in his writing. As it is precise in the information provided and has a direct flow. While Ibn Bat... half of the paper... more than telling stories. Both use the subtitle, but the textbooks use it to discuss a new topic, as Ibn Battuta moved on to the next chapter or incident he addressed. In conclusion, the title of the textbook gives a flow as it acts as a timeline in the story due to the different style in presenting the work, it creates a different atmosphere and the reader interprets the writer's information from a different perspective. Therefore, the quantity, quality of content and presentation of content lead to distinguishing points of view. This essay has shown that Mali can be described differently by the two sources. Due to the difference: purpose of writing, narrative mode, amount of content and communication mode led to the creation of two different perspectives of Mali. Therefore, an event or incident has multiple perspectives as it depends on how the writer and reader interpret it.
