Topic > Analysis of The Rare Good Guy With A Gun by David Shipley

Although the NRA is a very large organization that continues to grow, there are problems outside of its agenda that it cannot handle. One thing LaPierre mentioned was the lack of attention to those with metal-related health issues. He believes “the lack of mental health reforms can lead to tragedies.” Stewart House, wrote the short article "So, about that 'good guy' with a gun" also mentioned that "another mentally ill person who felt he had no other choice" could have been prevented with a Plausible attention to both gun laws and metal health awareness. I think Shipley is wrong because he overlooks other possible outcomes of violent shootings. He needs to look at the people themselves, the problems they have, why they want the gun, etc. While I agree with Shipley to a point, I cannot accept his general assumption that the NRA is the probable cause of all the terrible and reckless shootings because the NRA has demonstrated that it is not negligent and does not allow horrible things
