However, this is not the only criterion for deciding whether to outsource or not. I believe that in general it is 20% more expensive to outsource the creation of the e-commerce presence and not manage it internally. But it would be unwise to consider cost as the only factor. If we consider all the long-term benefits of outsourcing that we discussed above, it is possible that we will end up paying a final cost to the company if we decide to opt for in-house development anyway. I don't want to run the risk of progressing the project late or ending up with a mediocre e-commerce presence due to the lack of skills and knowledge of my existing staff. Additionally, I believe my company will miss out on the opportunity to utilize the best of e-commerce technology available on the market today. Clearly, the benefits of outsourcing this process outweigh the disadvantages, and this is exactly why I chose to build my company's e-commerce presence by outsourcing the process.
