Prejudice is defined as an opinion formed without taking the time and care to judge fairly. In the book "To Kill a Mockingbird" by Harper Lee, several themes such as courage, prejudice and growth are presented. The main theme of this novel, however, is prejudice. In the book, it is not just about black and white, but the entire novel is about prejudice in many forms, including class gender and racial prejudice. Throughout the story, we see all of these events in the eyes of a young girl named Scout. In the story, Scout's father Atticus tells Jem and Scout, "I'd rather you shoot the tin cans in the back yard, but I know you, 'I'll go bird hunting.' Shoot all the blue jays you want if you can hit them, but remember it's a shame to kill a mockingbird" (Lee 90). In this quote, the mockingbird introduces the characters Tom and Boo because they don't have a song of their own. A mockingbird mocking doesn't sing his own song. we see in the way the other birds sing their song. This refers to Boo and Tom. Both of these characters don't really have their own songs, as you say, they only see each other...
