When Shelia was younger, she developed a sense of belonging to her family. She was loved since she was a child and this helped establish the love and esteem she carried within herself. In the hierarchy of needs, she would complete the first rung of psychological needs as her family set her that tone and the second rung of safety needs, they provided a stable and safe home. They provided the needs for law, order, and structure, which are also security needs (Feist, Feist, & Roberts, 2013).
