Budget cuts have created enormous difficulties in providing education systems with the financial support needed to help students succeed. Less funding means smaller staff, fewer resources and fewer student services. Often, exceptionally qualified teachers do not accept positions in school districts that are not well paid. One of the many negative aspects caused by a lack of funding is the insufficient provision of resources for students. Public schools that receive significantly less funding cannot provide students with resources such as updated textbooks, technology, and other updated instructional materials. This lack of funding can also affect students on an emotional level. Many students are not motivated to learn, regardless of their situation. So, when faced with bad teachers and poor resources, even the most gifted students begin to view education as a chore and not as a means to a successful future. It's like Bill Gates once said, "I went to public school until sixth grade, and being good on tests wasn't cool." Imagine if Bill Gates had given up, perhaps the world would never have profited from the technology he developed and the philanthropic contributions he made. When teachers teach students, rather than test, they are essentially investing their efforts in the future of the United States, so why can't we apply as many resources as possible to the people and systems that play a huge role in ensuring a bright future? for ours
