There are many articles on labor productivity and its improvement. But the application of Work Study to improve work productivity is very limited. Work study applications are most common in the manufacturing industry, but now its application is increasing in the construction industry as well. 2.2 Labor Productivity Since construction work is the most dynamic element in the construction industry, improving labor efficiency has become a goal for construction companies. One of the most effective ways to increase work efficiency is to improve productivity. Therefore, by increasing labor productivity, fewer workers can achieve the same production rate, which leads to lower costs and increases the company's chances of obtaining new contracts. 2.2.1 What is labor productivity? In the 1980s, no standardized definition of productivity had been established. in the construction sector. It is difficult to define a standard measure of productivity because companies use their own internal systems which are not standardized. Productivity can be illustrated as an association between output and input. Productivity = Output/Input OR Productivity = Input/output Productivity measures can be classified into two categories (Attar, Gupta & Desai, 2012)1. Single-factor or partial productivity measures relate a particular output measure to a single input measure, such as labor or capital. Labor productivity that considers only labor as input is commonly used in the construction industry.2. Multifactor or total productivity (MFP) measures relate a particular output measure to a group of inputs, or to the total inputs used. Based on previous studies on labor productivity and input from experts, practitioners and local industry professionals, 27 factors have been identified that are influencing construction labor productivity in the Indian state of Gujarat. In the latest study in Egypt (Hafez et al,2014), three important factors were identified that most influence labor productivity.
