DNA typing has become more present in the world with the creation of new technologies, allowing justice to be served in courtrooms, helping to identify bodies after they have occurred devastating events, and even in processes that the average human being does not pay much attention to, such as the production of biofuels. The DNA typing process is not easy considering the fact that you first need to go through the multi-step process of DNA extraction. Along with DNA typing also comes the job opportunities available, the organizations that have been created with respect to this topic, and the average salary available for people who work in this field of work. The use of DNA typing will become more common in the near future as the number of jobs in this field is expected to increase over the years. DNA typing is “a technique used primarily for identification by extracting and identifying the base pair pattern in an individual's DNA”. ("DNA Fingerprinting") The process of DNA typing began in the mid-1980s and was discovered as a result of biomedical research. (“DNA Typing Using RFLP Analysis”) To understand the DNA typing process you must first have a basic understanding of DNA itself. The letters DNA represent the word deoxyribonucleic acid. ("The Editors of the Encyclopedia Britannica") Frederich Miescher first observed DNA in the late 1800s, but it didn't become a big deal until 1953, when James Watson and Francis Crick discovered the double helix structure. (“Deoxyribonucleic Acid (DNA) Fact Sheet”) A person's DNA is created from the DNA of their mother and father and makes up who they are as a person. All parts of the body contain the same DNA except red blood cells. ("STR DNA Analysis") DNA is ma...... at the center of the paper ......ry. Np, nd Web.
