The virtual self, by Nora Young is a book about self-tracking, the obsessive recording of daily life online. The obsession with data. How is this data altering the world? Many people are obsessed with this data. Sometimes you don't even realize you're collecting a lot of data. The data can be online images, having a smartphone nowadays is enough to collect the data for you, Google Android if enabled, has a website where you can see what you do every day showing you your trip, where you have been during the day. He is talking about the virtual self as a doppelganger that you wish to represent to others. He wants us to take control of the data and then think about how we use it and not just use it. Being relatable I think is what defines this book, it definitely drops a lot of significant words. I want to identify some self-monitoring technologies and answer their uses and why many people are obsessed with this technology. Over the last year, the look of said wearable product is everything Nora says it is in her book. The importance of self-tracking and online sharing. It talks extensively about why and how people want to share this data. With the wearable you don't even have to worry about how to share this data or understand it, it does it for you. Objects of daily news and become communicators. New uses accelerate the creation of new smart products. Connected objects must seduce the public to enter applications. But now we see real excitement around this trend. These objects are connected, modernized, developed and communicate with each other in order to offer an overall vision of the user's life.
