The process of becoming a zoologist requires great self-determination, tenacity, patience and discipline; the role of zoologists has recently taken on ever-increasing levels of importance due to the need to teach respect for the environment and also for the animals of the world. It's important to have zoologists around, not just for animals but also for humans. Humans must have the knowledge of animals to understand what is going on in the environmental issues that happen around them every day. As you develop your knowledge of this career, it is essential to have an understanding of what it is about. Zoology is a branch of biology that concerns the study of animal life (zoology). Animals, in this frame of reference, are all living organisms that are not fungi, plants, viruses, or bacteria. Animals include creatures such as sea sponges, jellyfish, frogs, worms, lobsters, snails, insects, birds, fish, and mammals (Types of Zoologists Z). Zoology has evolved into a different study as it now includes psychology and ecology; where the focus was only on the structures and function of the cell (Zoologia). Zoology applying ideas and techniques to life processes has not only brought together different fields, but also created connections with other scientific fields; allows us to more easily explain the relationships of animals among themselves and with their environment (Hanson). Zoology embodies organizations that transport groups of educated individuals into an equivalent field. The Association of Zoos & Aquariums (AZA) is the largest membership group for zoology majors.
