“There are no constraints on the human mind, no walls around the human spirit, no barriers to our progress except those we ourselves erect” - Ronald Reagan. The first step to overcoming barriers is to identify where these barriers are located within a community, and then address them one at a time. Difficulty in achieving goals when it comes to effective learning. Students often set goals, or goals set by their students. parents who are not reachable. The only achievable goals are those that are broken down into smaller goals whose end result will be your main goal. There is an extremely high demand for results in my community. Children often suffer under these conditions because they fail to meet the expectations of their teachers or parents. Parents should be educated in effective goal setting so that they can have realistic goals for their children. Teacher expectations should also be made clear to parents and students, and the teacher must be careful in setting those expectations. Students' confidence should be encouraged and they should only be given activities that the child will be able to complete. This increases students' confidence in their abilities and new goals will automatically be set. This will decrease students' stress in reaching the coals and also eliminate any doubts about success. Otherwise, the student will not reach his or her potential. Many students commit suicide because they feel incompetent. In my community many teenagers commit suicide because they cannot overcome the barrier in achieving goals in a learning environment. This is not acceptable and it is the responsibility of teachers to educate students on this topic. A national youth risk......middle of paper......accessories. Feeding schemes should also be made available to high school students as there is a great need for them too. The academic performance of poor students is much lower. These students should be identified and the school governing body should approach these children so that they can be helped sufficiently. They should receive additional support in their subjects, as well as providing them with school clothes and accessories. This will immediately reduce the gap between these students. To conclude. Schools considered privileged also have to overcome many barriers that impact their learning. They are not like schools in rural areas, but they too need more attention. If students, teachers, and parents work together, they can overcome these barriers to make school a safe and effective learning environment.
