The Family ManAs we grow up in this world, we are introduced to the morals and values that we all have some sense of within each of us. We are born with a sense of protection towards our loved ones, the need to guide them towards the right choices and the need to provide for them. Arthur Miller, father of three, has this concept deeply rooted in his mind and in his literary works. (Abbotson) Arthur Asher Miller, a man of many highly regarded novels, was born in New York City on October 17, 1915. (Hadomi) A man who saw the full harshness of the Great Depression and worked many jobs including a clerk and a delivery boy for a bakery before school. Arthur Miller began writing in 1934 while attending the University of Michigan, and this is where his creative writing began to be noticed. He has written many radio plays such as The Pussycat and the Plumber Who Was a Man, and plays such as No Villain, and has received numerous awards for these magnificent writings. These awards include the Pulitzer Prize for Death of a Salesman. (Stagg) In 1948 he built a studio in Connecticut where he began writing Death of a Salesman. (Abbotson) The award-winning work was published in 1949 after World War II in which Miller did not serve due to physical ailment. (Bryer) In Death of a Salesman, Arthur Miller shows us that family values are evident in every family. Willy Loman, father of two, has been committed to his family all his life and loves them until his death. him. In Toy Story 3, we see Woody protect his friends and guide them through many adventures, fights and happy moments.
