Discuss how the use of information and communication technologies (ICT) would facilitate and disrupt social interactions. What can sociologists learn from the increase in virtual interactions? Technology has changed the way society has lived; as it changes the understanding of how things are done and it also changes how we connect with each other. People have become accustomed to technology in everyday life, both at home and in the work environment, ICT is also used as a school element to teach children at a young age such as primary school pupils. ICT is a new approach to communicating and acquiring information through the means of broadcasting news on a weekly or even daily basis. However, before continuing it is necessary to better understand the definition of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT). It refers to a process of technologies that provide information via telecommunications. It can also refer to information technology (IT), however it mainly focuses on communication technology (TechTerms.com, 2010). In the essay we will try to discuss how information and communication technology would impact society in a negative and positive way. Furthermore, the knowledge that sociologists will gain from increased virtual interaction will be explained. The use of technology has allowed people to connect with each other in many ways at ease as it has made their duty much easier to access. Technology has become advanced in every generation as it has enabled people to communicate with anyone via wireless access, making life more convenient for every human being. However, using information and communications technology… half of the paper… is listed as: Creating writing allows you to keep track of past events. Furthermore, the Internet has made communication much faster as it has been present as an effective sense in the global society. To conclude, information and community technology can be used in many ways, from geographical communication with people to use in the workplace. However, using ICT can have pros and cons (as with many things), but it is necessary to refer to the intention to use it. Although ICT has a strong negative impact, as was conducted by the research of Morahan-Martin and Schumacher (2000), the positive issue is that there are measures to prevent this from happening, such as purchasing a virus protection system as mentioned above. These precautions will help ensure a high level of security in any case of a cyber attack.
