The Wantsons The old house creaked. The windows were marked with shatter marks from years of being hit by various unidentifiable objects. My pencils were not sharpened!! What?!!! My pencils were not sharpened. They were high-quality office pencils, the closest thing to luxury I've ever owned. My life was as close to unlivable as I think it can get. How I wished I didn't have to live below the poverty line and this dream continues to grow every day, now it consisted of a house, a green garden and a swimming pool with summer all year round. My father died when I was three weeks old, of brain cancer. We never mention it again; Mom would dissolve into tears. All my life it was me (Alice), my younger brother (Charlie) and my mother. We were the Wantsons. Life was hard in our house. Mom was a real estate agent, who hadn't sold a house in 2 years; the recession was taking its toll on this little town that meant nothing to anyone except the poor stranded souls who lived there. I was 13 and the only thing I had in common with my mother was wavy light brown hair. My most notable feature was my blue eyes, so blue they blended in with the ocean; a gift from my father "One photo is all I had of him, mum never showed me another." Then there's my brother; well, my adopted brother, really. Here is his story.Charlie Choy - Wantson, was adopted two years ago, at the age of nine. He was a global kid, who traveled the world with his wealthy parents until they both died in a car accident. His parents never believed in banking and hid their treasures. No one knew where the hidden fortune was. Charlie was instead sent to the orphanage and was dismissed under the illusion that he would ever find and then inherit his fortune. Charlie was quite handsome. ...... middle of the sheet ...... g March morning. My brother went to the pool for a swim because he was sweating like a pig. Thirty minutes later a scream erupted, a head was cut off and blood flowed as the floating body lay on the pool. I passed our fountain. Suddenly I heard a soft thud. Worried I ran into the pool. I screamed so loudly that the waves of my voice pushed the corpse. My mother came with a worried face. He saw the corpse; there was a moment of silence. Then my mother screamed, so loud that my ears bled. He rushed towards me and we huddled by the pool staring at the body, the pool I had dreamed of so much. We cried tears and hugged each other tightly. My mother called the police. Soon the blue and red mermaids joined us in the pool. Police secured the area with yellow tape. Our tears formed a puddle of water that soaked our feet. We held each other in a tight hug. We will miss him so much.
