“Global warming is an increase in the earth's temperature due to fossil fuels, industry and agricultural processes caused by human, natural and other gas emissions” (EPA). Our world has gone through several phases throughout its life. It takes time to face and cope with changes, just like anything else. Over the years, the earth has gradually warmed due to pollution. Humans, however, have been slow to take the necessary actions to prevent the situation from worsening. Due to people's ignorance we are on the verge of a very dramatic change, global warming. If we continue to move forward with our lives, ignoring the consequences of our actions, we will face drastic and devastating losses. Human activities increase the levels of these gases, causing further problems. “Cars, heat from homes and businesses, and factories are responsible for about 80% of today's carbon dioxide emissions, 25% of methane emissions, and 20% of nitrous oxide emissions” (Thinkquest) . In the future, it will be hard to produce food. When global warming really starts to cause damaging problems, we will have droughts and floods quite often, which will not allow crops to grow. Another problem is acid rain, which will also kill many crops serious health problems for billions of people. Furthermore, the air we breathe will be full of carbon dioxide, which could cause hypercarbia, “the physical condition characterized by the presence of an abnormally high level of carbon dioxide in the circulating blood. " (WordNet). Food and oxygen are absolute necessities and without them we will not be able to survive. "Even limited land will be a problem in a few years, when global warming has melted most of the ice... .. middle of paper ...... cooperation of citizens, further scientific developments and government, humanity can slow down the effect of global warming.
